The Standards Council of Canada (SCC)

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is the Federal Crown Corporation that promotes efficient and effective standardization. It coordinates and oversees the efforts of the National Standards System, which includes organizations and individuals involved in voluntary standards development, promotion and implementation in Canada. It coordinates the contribution of Canadians to the two most prominent voluntary international standards development forums - the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electro Technical Commission (IEC). It is involved in efforts to establish mutual recognition of its accreditation programs for conformity assessment organizations with similar bodies in other countries. This facilitates the movement of goods and services across borders.
