In 1992, Akeela made the switch from the corporate world to self-employment as a financial planner. In 1994, she moved to Maple Ridge, BC, and purchased a franchise. She then attained her Certified Financial Planner and Registered Financial Planner designations.
Today, Ms. Davis operates two successful businesses, "ARISTA" and Berkshire Investment Group Inc., in Maple Ridge. She deals with clients in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia. She also serves clients in various parts of the world.
Ms. Davis is committed to education, both her own and her clients. She provides monthly seminars to both clients and the general public on various aspects of financial planning. In addition to keeping up with the changes in her industry, she is also currently working on her RPA, Retirement Planning Associate, a designation from the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist course through Dalhousie University in Halifax.
