FPSC Announces June 2008 CFP Examination Results

Toronto, July 22, 2008 — Seven hundred and fifty nine (759) individuals wrote the Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC) Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Examination on June 14, 2008, and 40 per cent (303) passed. Of those writing the exam for the first time, 45 per cent passed.

"Congratulations to all successful examination candidates. The CFP Examination is a critical component of the CFP certification eligibility requirements," said John Wickett, Vice President, Standards & Certification, FPSC. "These candidates are now one step closer to earning the certification mark acknowledged throughout Canada and internationally as the highest standard for competence and ethics in financial planning."
The six-hour CFP Examination is administered in both official languages twice a year.
The June examination was held in 49 centres across Canada.
The examination is one component of the CFP certification program that also includes pre-requisite education to qualify to write the CFP examination, relevant work experience, ongoing adherence to the CFP Code of Ethics and fulfillment of annual continuing education requirements.
The next scheduled sitting of the CFP Examination is on November 15, 2008. Registration closes on October 15, 2008. Examination information and applications
