Gobeil’s Case Study Course is a one-day course that focuses on exam writing techniques for Case Study Questions that will help you get the best value from all the knowledge that you have acquired and identify your weaknesses. These techniques address time management, the elimination process, information overload, over analysis, number crunching, time value of money, exhaustion and dealing with the case background.
Upon completion of this course, you should have:
- developed the examine writing techniques necessary to successfully answer the questions for a case study; and
- improved your knowledge of the subject matter of the CFP curriculum that requires a mastery level.
Over the years, we have found that many candidates do not have the in-depth knowledge required for topics that require mastery knowledge. The case studies will focus on these Must Knows.
The Course will provide techniques for:
- dealing with combination questions;
- analyzing the case study background, which includes irrelevant information;
- analyzing the questions to determine what information is, and is not, required; and
- dealing with the challenge of 2 case studies and 50 technical questions on the one paper.
You will learn by writing case studies similar to those expected on the Examination. David Gobeil will lead a presentation on the exam writing techniques and debrief the case studies.
In order to ensure your success, you will have the following resources:
- emails from Gobeil with study tips and exam information; and
- a course workbook with six case studies, detailed solutions, and PowerPoint slides used in the presentations.
Course Location
The Courses will be held at The Courtyard Marriott, 65 Minthorn Boulevard, Richmond Hill, Ontario, L3T 7N5. The hotel is located on Leslie Avenue just north of Highway 407.
