The Institut québécois de planification financère (IQPF) and Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding to simplify the process for Certified Financial Planner (CFP® professionals) who want to practise in Quebec and for financial planners from Quebec who want to practise outside of the province.

New requirements for obtaining CFP certification effective July 1, 2010 have been released. These requirements will affect all candidates who have not passed the CFP Examination by June 2010.
